Driving records
A traffic ticket can add points to your driving record. If you want the Court to consider a modification or a reduction of potential points, there are two ways to proceed. Both require a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Appear in court
Arrive about 30 minutes early. Discuss your case with the Prosecutor before court. We suggest that you bring your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) to court for proper review.
Online clerk deferral review
You may request a deferral review and upload your MVR with the form. Not all citations are eligible. Approval is not guaranteed. The Judge has the final say.
Get a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) from Service Oklahoma (service.ok.gov). You can request it online or in person at a tag agency.
Entering a plea
Not Guilty
If you are disputing a citation, you must appear in court on your given court date, or you may hire an attorney to appear on your behalf. The Town and the Court do not provide legal advice. If you have questions about court processes, contact an attorney.
Guilty or Nolo Contendere
You are not required to come to court if you pay your fine in full prior to your court date. Tickets paid prior to the court date are automatically entered as Guilty or Nolo Contendere (no contest). Once payment is processed, you will not be on the court docket to discuss your citation.
