Deferral Request

Not all citations are eligible for a deferral. The Judge of the Talala Municipal Court has the final say on any request.

This page explains options the court may consider. It is not legal advice. Submitting a request does not approve a deferral, change your plea, or excuse a court appearance unless the court tells you otherwise.

Keep the court date on your citation unless the Court Clerk notifies you that you do not need to appear.

Deadline. The Court does not accept online deferral requests within 4 business days of the court date. Requests inside that window cannot be submitted online — appear in court on your scheduled date, or you may be subject to further penalty.

Your options

Programs such as DriveSafe or other defensive driving courses are handled through the court with the Judge and the prosecutor — not as an online clerk deferral. If that is what you are seeking, appear in court unless you have been directed otherwise.

In some cases — for example proof of insurance for the same vehicle, or a repaired defective-equipment item — the court or clerk may consider a proof-of-correction (“fix-it”) style outcome. That is decided case by case. It is not a promised reduction.

How the online request works

1. Submit the form below with the required information, the required uploads — including your MVR — and your court date.
2. You receive a confirmation email with a unique confirmation number. Do not lose it. Check your spam or junk folder so you do not miss further messages from the court.
3. The Court Clerk reviews the request, including your MVR. The request may be approved or denied. The Judge of the Talala Municipal Court has the final say. There is no guarantee your request will be accepted.
4. If approved, the clerk will tell you the amounts due (fines, costs, and the deferral fee when it applies) and how to pay. A pay link may be provided later.

Upload your MVR (required)

For a deferral to be reviewed, you must upload a copy of your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Your MVR helps the Court Clerk determine whether you may be eligible. You can get a copy online from Service Oklahoma or in person at your local tag agency. PDF, JPG, or PNG.

Requests submitted without an MVR will be denied by the Court Clerk. If that happens and you still want to ask for a deferral, you will need to appear on your court date to discuss it with the Prosecutor or be seen by the Judge.
