The Talala Police Department works out of Town Hall at 102 West Watova Street — the same building as Town Hall itself. Chief of Police R. Scott Eaton and his officers are a small-town force: neighbors first, and the people who answer when Talala needs help.

Message from the Chief

“Where everybody knows your name” comes to mind when I think of Talala. Working in a small town, we police it the way a small town should be policed: by knowing our neighbors, answering when you call, and treating people with respect — while enforcing the law with patience and fairness. That is not a free pass. Locals are held accountable too. Respect goes both ways, and so does responsibility.

You will see us around town, at Town Hall, and at school events. That is community policing here — not a program we borrowed from somewhere else, but the way we already live and work.

If you need us, please use the number that fits the situation. Dial 911 for an emergency — someone is hurt, a crime is happening, or you need help right now. For a police response that is not an emergency, call dispatch at 918-923-4755. For records, questions, and other office business during the week, call the PD office. Those three lines exist so we can get the right help to you without delay.

We try to get a little better at this work every year, and we try to be people you can count on. That is what we mean by Continuous Improvement through Trustworthy Service. If you see one of us around town, say hello. We work for you.

— Chief R. Scott Eaton
